Hello,
I represent Colorado’s 13th House District in the Colorado legislature.
House District 13 reaches from the northeast plains of Boulder County to

the continental divide in western Clear Creek, Gilpin and Boulder
Counties. It is a wonderful blend of rural and urban, mountains and
plains. From major research institutions to quaint mountain towns, horse
farms to hard rock mines, fourteen thousand foot peaks to white water, the
land and people truly reflect the diversity of Colorado.
The 2008 legislative session will convene on January 9, 2008 and last for
120 days. There is much to accomplish during that compressed period of
time. We will continue to tackle global warming by fostering renewable
energy and incentivizing energy efficiency. We will work to increase
funding to Colorado’s schools, colleges and university, and assure that
all students receive an excellent education. We will address reform of
our health care system and health insurance to bring down costs, provide
greater access, and improve the quality of care. You can review all the
bills have been introduced at
www.leg.state.co.us".
In the long term, Coloradans must unite around Constitutional reforms that
will provide more flexibility in spending while retaining important
accountability to the tax payers. The straight-jacket approach under
which the legislature currently operates does not allow funds to be
directed where they are most needed. The best solution can only be
created after input from voters throughout the state.
For the first time, the proceedings on the floor of the House of
Representatives will be televised, so you can tune in and watch us in
action. I hope you will take advantage of that opportunity, as well as
the opportunity to listen over the internet to committee hearings on bills
you are interested in. We cannot do our jobs if you do not know what we
are doing and give us feedback!
You can always telephone me at 303-866-2578 or send me an e-mail at
Claire.Levy.House@state.co.us.
Thanks for allowing me to serve,
Claire
